Permits, placement and who may haul in Carrollton

Right-of-way: no dumpster permit found. Code §53.01 bars obstructing any street, alley or sidewalk, and §50.43 says a commercial container may not block a road or street right-of-way, an alley, a fire lane, a drainage ditch or a storm drain. Keep it on the property.

Who may haul: Carrollton runs an open, non-exclusive system — Code §50.70 (Ord. 4272, August 2025) requires a City solid waste collection permit to collect from commercial and industrial premises, with a $50 application fee and an annual fee of 7.5% of gross receipts paid quarterly (§50.71–50.72). Residential collection is reserved to the City (§50.15) with a defense for refuse the City does not collect. Environmental Services is on 972-466-3000. Of the northern suburbs, Carrollton is the one with a permit route open to outside haulers.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Carrollton

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No forms, no waiting on an email.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, the 7-day rental, pickup, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver walks the spot with you and sets the container square on the driveway, lot or job site, boards under the rails. Same-day in Dallas if you called before noon.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and sort it right

Concrete, metal and green waste get routed for recovery where North Texas facilities allow; the rest goes to a permitted landfill. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Carrollton — common questions

Is Carrollton same-day or next-day?

Usually next morning — it is about 31 minutes up I-35E. Ask; afternoon runs north happen.

Can a dumpster sit in the street in Carrollton?

The code bars obstructing streets and keeps commercial containers out of the right-of-way. The driveway or lot is the answer.

Does Carrollton restrict who can supply a roll-off?

Carrollton issues an annual permit to commercial haulers rather than reserving the work to one company — the open market among the northern suburbs. Residential roll-offs are the grey area we will explain on the phone.

Service area

Every DFW city we cover

We run roll-off containers out of our south-west Dallas yard to every city below. Dallas and the southern suburbs are usually same-day; the north and east of the metroplex are next-day. Several cities reserve roll-offs to their own contracted hauler — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
