Residential Dumpster Rental in Dallas, TX — Metro Bin Dallas

Residential Dumpster Rental across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex

Dallas housing is varied enough that one container does not fit all of it. The big lots in Preston Hollow and Lakewood have room for a 20; the compact post-war streets of Oak Cliff and Casa Linda want a 10 or a 15; the newer subdivisions in Frisco, Allen and Rockwall have HOAs with their own ideas about where a box can sit. We have placed containers in all of them, and the first thing we ask on the phone is what your driveway looks like.

Most residential jobs are one of three things: a cleanout (garage, attic, a whole house before a move or sale), a remodel (kitchen, bath, flooring), or storm damage — fences, roofs and tree limbs after a hail or wind event. Each wants a different size and a different conversation about weight. The size comparison covers the numbers; the phone call covers your job.

What actually fills a residential container

Garage and estate cleanouts dominate: furniture, boxes, old appliances, the contents of a shed. Kitchen and bath remodels are next — cabinets, tile, drywall, a tub. Then the North Texas-specific stuff: a fence line flattened by a storm, a roof tear-off after hail, or a patio of broken concrete the city's bulk pickup will not take.

The City of Dallas collects brush and bulky items from single-family homes once a month, up to 10 cubic yards, and its own page lists what it will not take: building materials, bricks, rock, concrete, roofing, dirt or sod. Anything bigger, heavier or sooner than that is what a residential roll-off is for.

Driveway placement, HOA streets and where the box goes

On your own driveway or private lot in Dallas we found no City rule requiring a permit. Boards go under the rails to protect concrete and pavers, and the driver sets the container square with the door facing the way you want to load. If the only option is the street, the City's Public Works Right-of-Way Management office (214-948-4290) handles right-of-way and traffic control permits — tell us when you book and we will line the delivery up with it.

HOA communities often add their own placement rules, and several DFW cities route residential roll-offs through their own contracted hauler. Each city page spells out what the city itself says.

Suitability

Is residential dumpster rental the right call?

The fastest way to get this right is to check the two lists below against what is actually in your pile.

Good fits for this service

  • Garage, attic and whole-house cleanouts
  • Kitchen, bath and flooring remodels
  • Moving, downsizing and estate cleanouts
  • Storm debris, fences and big yard cleanups
  • Furniture, mattresses and bulky junk

Send these somewhere else

  • Paint, solvents, fuel, propane and pool chemicals — the Dallas Home Chemical Collection Center takes those
  • Tires, batteries and electronics
  • Asbestos or suspected asbestos material
  • A box that has to sit in the street without the city's say-so

Residential dumpster rental — the North Texas specifics

Spring hail and wind are the events that drive most residential calls around Dallas. A storm takes out fences, shingles and tree limbs on whole streets at once, and the monthly bulk pickup was never built for it. A container on the driveway gets the yard and the roof debris cleared the week it happens. The storm debris guide covers what the city programs take and what they do not.

Answers

Residential Dumpster Rental — your questions answered

Will the dumpster damage my driveway?

Not if it is set properly. Boards go under the rails as standard on paved drives, and the driver will tell you before delivery if a surface looks like it needs more than that.

Can I put the dumpster on the street instead?

In Dallas the City treats a container in the street as occupying the right-of-way, and Public Works Right-of-Way Management is the office to ask. Other DFW cities have their own rules, and some flatly bar containers from the right-of-way. The driveway is always simpler.

What size do most homeowners end up renting?

A 20 yard for cleanouts and multi-room remodels, a 10 or 15 for a single room or a garage. Say what the job is and we will size it on the call.

Can I put old appliances in the dumpster?

Fridges, freezers and air conditioners contain refrigerant and have to be handled separately; washers, dryers and water heaters are fine. Ask when you book.

How long can I keep the container?

7 days as standard. If the job runs on, call or text before pickup and we extend it at a small daily rate.

Do you serve outside Dallas?

Yes — across the metroplex, from Cedar Hill and DeSoto up to Frisco and McKinney and out to Arlington and Rockwall. Each city has its own page, and several cities restrict who may supply a roll-off inside their limits; we say so plainly on each page.
